International Nurses Day
International Nurse Day is celebrated on 12 May. This day is celebrated to honour the birth ceremony of Florence Nightingale. She was also known as Lady with the Lamp. She was the founder of modern nursing and was a British social reformer and statistician. International Council of Nurses has published its theme for the year 2020 around the COVID-19 pandemic on its official website icn.ch “Nursing the World to Health”.

Centre releases Rs 6,195 crore to 14 states to fight coronavirus crisis

Govt of MP launches ‘FIR Aapke Dwar’ Yojana
Government of Madhya Pradesh has launched ‘FIR Aapke Dwar Yojana’ in Bhopal. The project has been started in 23 Police Stations including one urban and one rural Police Station at 11 Divisional Headquarters. For this Yojana “Dial 100” vehicle would have trained Head Constables to lodge FIR.

NIV-Pune develops India’s 1st antibody testing kit “ELISA”
National Institute of Virology, Pune has been successfully developed India’s first domestic antibody testing kit “ELISA”. This antibody testing kit will help in surveillance of the proportion of the population exposed to SARSCoV2 infection and hence, it will help in combating COVID-19. To produce the ELISA test kits on a very large scale, Indian council of Medical and Research has tied-up with ZYDUS CADILA.
