National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage launched by Union Minister Prahlad Singh Patel

  • Union Minister for Culture (I/C) Shri Prahlad Singh Patel launched the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) of India in New Delhi.
  • The National ICH List is an attempt to recognize the diversity of Indian culture embedded in its intangible heritage.
  • The idea behind this is to raise awareness about the various intangible cultural heritage elements from different states of India at the national and international level and ensure their protection.

Government of India launches an online data portal for combating and containing Covid-19

Government of India has launched an online data portal containing information of human resources for combating and containing Covid-19. This portal has been created as an online website at “covidwarriors.gov.in”.

It contains state wise and district wise availability of the large pool of human resources from various groups along with contact details of the nodal officers.


Govt constitutes 6 Inter-Ministerial Central Teams to make an on-spot assessment of COVID-19 situation

  • Union Government has constituted six Inter-Ministerial Central Teams to make an on-spot assessment of COVID-19 situation, issue necessary directions to State Authorities for its redressal and submit their report to the Centre.

UP govt collabrate with Google to geotag community kitchen

Uttar Pradesh Government collaborates with Google to open geotag community kitchens in the state. The kitchens have the capability to produce 12 lakh food packets on a daily basis. Now, Uttar Pradesh became the 1st state to geotag community kitchens. Around 7,368 community kitchens located in 75 districts were geotagged.

Fitch slashes India’s GDP growth forecast to 1.8%

According to the report, Fitch Solutions has rip India’s economic growth forecast to 1.8% for the financial year 2020-21. Fitch Solutions has lowered India’s economic growth forecast from 4.6% stating large-scale loss of income across the economy due to the current pandemic situation, causing contracted private consumption. It has also predicted the contraction in fixed investments as capital expenditure has been reduced by businesses to conserve cash amid elevated economic uncertainty.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Ropar (Punjab) has developed & designed a ‘WardBot’ to deliver medicines and food to COVID-19 patients in isolation wards without human intervention. WardBot also has a feature of self-sanitising.
