VERNACULAR (noun) :  स्थानीय भाषा

  • Meaning: used in or suitable for speech and not formal writing.
  • अर्थ: भाषण के लिए इस्तेमाल किया या उपयुक्त और औपचारिक लेखन नहीं।
  • Synonyms: colloquial, jargon, argot, patois. Antonyms: standard, undialectical, genteel, formal.
  • Usage: While the author never stated the novel’s setting, the vernacular of the characters identified the location as somewhere in Asia.

SACK (verb) : निकाल देना

  • Meaning: dismiss from employment.
  • अर्थ: रोजगार से खारिज करना।
  • Synonyms: bounce, discharge, dismiss, terminate,
  • Antonyms: recruit, employ, engage, hire.
  • Usage: Any official found to be involved would be sacked on the spot.

SUBTERRANEAN (adjective) : गुप्त

  • Meaning: secret; concealed.

  • Synonym: adjudge, judge, arbitrate, decide, determine
  • Usage: You should never adjudicate a major decision when you are under the influence of alcohol.

TORPOR (noun) : उदासीनता
