The Hindu English Vocabulary

CONCEDE (verb) : मेल खाना

  • Meaning : admit or agree that something is true after first denying or resisting it.
  • अर्थ: स्वीकार करते हैं या सहमत होते हैं कि पहले इनकार या विरोध करने के बाद कुछ सच है।
  • Synonyms : accept, admit, allow, capitulate
  • Antonyms: defend, deny, disallow
  • Usage: If we concede to the criminal the right to a further chance we concede it to ourselves.

CUTTING EDGE (adjective) : अग्रणी

  • Meaning: highly advanced; innovative or pioneering.
  • अर्थ: अत्यधिक उन्नत; अभिनव या अग्रणी।
  • Synonyms: a progressive, revolutionary, trailblazing, novel.
  • Antonyms: conventional, customary, established, traditional.
  • Usage : The best militaries in the world have to be cutting edge and always purchase the latest technology.

SHREWD(Adjective) :  चालाक

  • Meaning: having or showing sharp powers of judgment; astute.
  • अर्थ: निर्णय की तेज शक्तियाँ होना या दिखाना; चतुर।
  • Synonyms: astute, sharp-witted, sharp, acute, intelligent
  • Antonyms: stupid, unwise, ingenuous
  • Usage: As a motivational speaker, Clark is a shrewd manipulator of human emotions.

INVIGORATE(Verb) :  सबल बनाना

  • Meaning: to give life, vigor, or spirit to
  • अर्थ: प्राण, शक्ति या आत्मा देना
  • Synonym: amp (up), animate, brace, energize, enliven, fillip, fire
  • Antonym: damp, dampen, deaden, dull, kill
  • Usage: The fresh air and sunshine invigorated the children after a long winter indoors.

EPHEMERAL (Adjective) : अस्थायी

  • Meaning: Lasting for short time
  • अर्थ: कम समय तक रहना
  • Synonyms: Temporary, Short-lived, transient.
  • Antonyms: long-lived, enduring, everlasting, eternal, perpetual.
  • Example: time is ephemeral so don’t waste it.

Molder (verb) : गलना
