RELEGATE (Verb) : निर्वासित कर देना

  • Meaning: assign an inferior rank or position to.
  • अर्थ: हीन पद या पद को सौंपना।
  • Synonyms: downgrade, banish, exile, degrade
  • Antonyms: upgrade, promote
  • Example : If you don’t want your boss to relegate you to the status of unemployed, you’d better watch what you say on social media.

NAB (verb) : पकड़ लेना

  • Meaning: catch (someone) doing something wrong.
  • अर्थ: कुछ गलत करते हुए (किसी को) पकड़ना।
  • Synonyms: seize, apprehend, arrest, restrain.
  • Antonyms: emancipate, free, liberate, unchain.
  • Usage: A bank robber was nabbed because he made the classic mistake of returning to the scene of the crime.

Vernacular (Noun) : जनभाषा

  • Meaning: the language or dialect spoken by the ordinary people of a country or region.
  • अर्थ: किसी देश या क्षेत्र के सामान्य लोगों द्वारा बोली जाने वाली भाषा या बोली।
  • Synonym: everyday language, spoken language, colloquial speech, slang
  • Usage: To hold the interest of the community, the playwright penned his play using only the local vernacular.

Plagiarize (Verb) : साहित्यिक चोरी करना

  • Meaning: take (the work or an idea of someone else) and pass it off as one’s own.
  • अर्थ: (किसी दूसरे के काम या विचार) को लेना और उसे अपने ही समान मानना।
  • Synonym: infringe the copyright of, pirate, steal, poach, borrow,
  • Usage:  Professional writers who  plagiarize can be taken to court and ordered to pay damages.

DOWNRIGHT (adjective) : सर्वथा

  • Meaning: (of something bad or unpleasant) utter; complete (used for emphasis).
  • अर्थ: (कुछ बुरा या अप्रिय का) उच्चारण करना; पूर्ण (जोर देने के लिए प्रयुक्त)।
  • Synonyms: total, absolute, thorough, perfect, sheer.
  • Antonyms: inadequate, incomplete, insufficient, unfinished.
  • Usage: It was downright bad marking that allowed Dermot Shields head past Larkin from six yards for the lead goal.

MANDATE (noun) : शासनादेश

  • Meaning: an official order or commission to do something.
  • अर्थ: कुछ करने के लिए एक आधिकारिक आदेश या आयोग।
  • Synonyms: instruction, directive, direction, decree, command
  • Antonyms: encourage
  • Usage: They carried out the governor’s mandate to build more roads.

DISSIDENCE (Noun) : मतभेद

  • Meaning: disagreement over a matter
  • अर्थ: किसी बात पर असहमति
  • Synonyms: contention, disagreement, discordance, disharmony, dispute
  • Antonyms: agreement, approval, authorization, concurrence
  • Usage: So much is said nowadays about the dissidence of the spiritual and intellectual worlds.

INCHOATE (adjective) : प्रारंभिक

  • Meaning: just begun and so not fully formed or developed; rudimentary.
  • अर्थ: अभी शुरू हुआ और इसलिए पूरी तरह से गठित या विकसित नहीं हुआ; अल्पविकसित।
  • Synonyms: budding, inceptive, incipient, nascent.
  • Antonyms: developed, full-fledged, evolved, ripened.
  • Usage: Having just come into existence a few years ago, the new political party is considered inchoate by many historians.

CONFLATE (verb) : मिलाना

  • Meaning: combine (two or more sets of information, texts, ideas, etc.) into one.
  • अर्थ: एक में दो (सूचना, ग्रंथों, विचारों, आदि के दो या अधिक) संयोजन।
  • Synonyms: amalgamate, converge, unify, fuse.
  • Antonyms: divide, part, separate, rupture.
  • Usage: To conflate art and science, teachers must design activities that blend the two.

STRINGENT (adjective) : कड़ी से कड़ी

  • Meaning: not allowing for any exceptions or loosening of standards
  • अर्थ: किसी भी अपवाद या मानकों को ढीला करने की अनुमति नहीं
  • Synonyms: brassbound, cast-iron, exacting, hard-line, inflexible, rigid, rigorous,
  • Antonyms: flexible, lax, loose, relaxed, slack
  • Usage: There are stringent rules against unauthorized persons being in our building
