DEROGATORY (Adjective): अपमानजनक

  • Meaning: showing a critical or disrespectful attitude. 
  • अर्थ: आलोचनात्मक या अपमानजनक रवैया दिखाना।
  • Synonyms: disparaging, slighting, pejorative, belittling
  • Antonyms: complimentary, appreciative, favorable, flattering
  • Example: He made some derogatory comment/remark about her appearance.

TRUCULENT (Adjective) : लड़ाकू

  • Meaning: eager or quick to argue or fight; aggressively defiant.
  • अर्थ: बहस करने या लड़ने के लिए उत्सुक या त्वरित; आक्रामक रूप से दोषपूर्ण।
  • Synonyms: defiant, aggressive, antagonistic, belligerent
  • Antonyms: cooperative, friendly, amiable
  • Example: I found him truculent and unpleasant.

INDELIBLE (Adjective) : अमिट

  • Meaning: not able to be forgotten.
  • अर्थ: भुलाया नहीं जा सकता।
  • Synonyms: indestructible, permanent, lasting, persisting
  • Antonyms: delible, destructible, erasable, impermanent
  • Example: Getting out didn’t make such an indelible impression as going in.

CULT (Noun) : पंथ

  • Meaning:a religious group

  • Synonyms: absolve, clear, acquit,
  • Antonyms: charge, convict
  • Usage: The job of the defense attorney is to exonerate his clients and keep them out of jail.

PATRONAGE (noun) : संरक्षण

  • Meaning: a condescending manner or attitude in granting favors, in dealing with people.
  • अर्थ: लोगों के साथ व्यवहार में, एहसान देने में एक कृपालु तरीका या रवैया।
  • Synonyms: aegis, auspices, backing, encouragement, financing.
  • Antonyms: attack, blockage, disapproval, discouragement, harm.
  • Usage: There were hundreds of other things in the great city, but they had their share of patronage.

PERNICIOUS (Adjective) : हानिकारक

  • Meaning: having a harmful effect, especially in a gradual or subtle way.
  • अर्थ: हानिकारक प्रभाव होना, विशेष रूप से क्रमिक या सूक्ष्म तरीके से।
  • Synonyms: harmful, damaging, destructive, injurious
  • Antonyms: beneficial, benign, favourable
  • Usage: If you are going to behave in such a pernicious manner, I would prefer to not be around you.

COALITION : गठबंधन

  • Meaning: the union of diverse things into one body or form or group
  • अर्थ: एक शरीर या रूप या समूह में विविध चीजों का मिलन
  • Synonyms: alliance, union
  • Antonyms: discord,rift
  • Example:A coalition between Liberals and Conservatives

DETENTE (noun) : शांति बनाए रखने

  • Meaning:  the easing of hostility or strained relations, especially between countries.
  • अर्थ: विशेष रूप से देशों के बीच शत्रुता या तनावपूर्ण संबंधों में ढील।
  • Synonyms: agreement, peace, amity, concord.
  • Antonyms: disruptive, antagonism, antipathy, hostility.
  • Usage: The policy of detente was scrapped and the objective was increasingly to roll back the Soviet Union.
