According to reports some of the famous job-related website like indeed comes up with the report that says Science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM)-related job has increased continuously in the country with an increased rate of 44 per cent between November 2016 and November 2019.
Also, the data says that the growth rate from November 2018 to November 2019 was only 5 per cent for the same jobs category. As we have already mentioned that the data is provided by the website, not any govt organisation.
I am sure now most people think that how any website decide any such data or jobs increased/decreased in the country. So I would like to inform my reader that the data provided by Indeed is based on job postings and searches on the Indeed platform from November 2016 to November 2019.
According to that data provided by Indeed, only STEM-related jobs have increased rate otherwise if compare it with all other jobs then it decreased by 14% in the past three years (November 2016 to November 2019).
Venkata Machavarapu, head of engineering, India and Site Director at Indeed India, said that after seeing growth rate for job postings in STEM over the past three years, it is promising to ascertain job seekers take an increasing interest in these roles also.
Most of the metro cities have a high rate of growth in STEM jobs. Below we have mentioned some cities and their growth rates.
Delhi – 31%
Mumbai – 21%
Bengaluru – 14%
Pune – 12%
Hyderabad – 12%
Chennai – 12%
If we see the above-mentioned cities growth rate then we can clearly get that the if we compare the STEM jobs data region-wise then the west region comes in the first place with 34% of increase rate and then we have the North and South of India come with 31% of postings from each region. The East accounted for only 4% of all STEM job postings.
Some of the high demands jobs in STEM fields are for developers. We have got the top five roles in demand in the same sector and those are software engineer, PHP developer, .Net developer, Android developer and full-stack developer.
