OVERTURE (Noun) : सन्धि प्रस्ताव

  • Meaning: an approach or proposal made to someone with the aim of opening negotiations or establishing a relationship.
  • अर्थ: बातचीत खोलने या संबंध स्थापित करने के उद्देश्य से किसी के लिए किया गया एक दृष्टिकोण या प्रस्ताव।
  • Synonyms: approach, proposal, tender, suggestion
  • Example: He began making overtures to British merchant banks.

BAIT (Noun) : प्रलोभन

  • Meaning: something intended to entice someone to do something.
  • अर्थ: कुछ करने के लिए किसी को लुभाने का इरादा।
  • Synonyms: enticement, lure, decoy, snare, trap
  • Antonyms: discouragement, repulsion
  • Example: People use maggots as bait when they go fishing.

DASTARDLY (Adjective) : दुष्ट और क्रूर

  • Meaning: wicked and cruel.
  • अर्थ: दुष्ट और क्रूर।
  • Synonyms: wicked, evil, iniquitous, heinous, villainous
  • Antonyms: noble, praiseworthy
  • Example:  I think, however, that the killing of Bin Laden will motivate extremists to carry out a variety of dastardly deeds.

CONFOUND (Verb) : उलझाना

  • Meaning: cause surprise or confusion in (someone), especially by not according with their expectations.
  • अर्थ: (किसी) में आश्चर्य या भ्रम पैदा करना, विशेषकर उनकी अपेक्षाओं के अनुसार नहीं।
  • Synonyms: amaze, astonish, dumbfound, stagger
  • Antonyms: Clarify, enlighten
  • Example: The purpose of the article is not to confound the readers but to inform them.

STODGY (adjective) : घिसा पिटा

  • Meaning: Dull and uninspired; lacking originality or excitement
  • अर्थ: सुस्त और उदासीन; मौलिकता या उत्तेजना की कमी
  • Synonyms: uninteresting, dreary, uninspired, monotonous.
  • Antonyms: exciting, creative, breathtaking, enthralling.
  • Usage: Most of my students used informal, asymmetrical balance, as formal balance can seem stodgy and dull.

Adscititious(Adjective) : अनावश्यक

  • Meaning: Added or derived from something outside; not inherent.
  • अर्थ: बाहर की किसी चीज़ से जोड़ा या निकाला हुआ; निहित नहीं है।
  • Synonym: inessential
  • Antonym: essential, primary
  • Usage: We should choose our books as we would our companioins, for their sterling and intrinsic merit, not for their adscititious or accidental advantages.

Brackish(Adjective) : नमकीन

  • Meaning: Slightly salty; not appealing to the taste
  • अर्थ: थोड़ा नमकीन; स्वाद के लिए अपील नहीं
  • Synonym: saline, salt
  • Antonym: Fresh
  • Usage: The brackish breeze of his seaside town became gusts that shot down 6th avenue and lifted the tails of his coat.

Empyrean(Adjective) : स्वर्ग

  • Meaning: Related to heaven or sky
  • अर्थ: स्वर्ग या आकाश से संबंधित
  • Synonym: Ether, Paradise
  • Antonym: hellish, infernal
  • Usage: Electronics and haunting effects bring an empyrean stillness to the album’s middle third.

SKIRMISH (noun) : झड़प

  • Meaning: a brief clash between enemies or rivals.
  • अर्थ: दुश्मनों या प्रतिद्वंद्वियों के बीच एक संक्षिप्त टकराव।
  • Synonyms: conflict, quarrel, fray, hassle.
  • Antonyms: concord, agreement, harmony, truce.

RETREAT(Verb) :पीछे हटना

  • Meaning:To go away from a place or person in order to escape.
  • अर्थ: बचने के लिए किसी स्थान या व्यक्ति से दूर जाना।

  • Example:Fire fighters had to retreat from the fierce heat.
