1) Retaliation (Noun) – प्रतिकार

Meaning:the action of returning a military attack; counter-attack.

Synonyms: revenge, vengeance, reprisal

Antonyms: forgiveness, pardon, sympathy

Usage: “the bombings are believed to be in retaliation for the trial of 15 suspects”

2) Assertion (Noun) – अभिकथन

Meaning: a confident and forceful statement of fact or belief.

Synonyms: declaration, contention, statement

Antonyms:disavowal, denial, desertion

Usage: “his assertion that his father had deserted the family”

3) Reckless (Adjective) – लापरवाह

Meaning: heedless of danger or the consequences of one’s actions; rash or impetuous.

Synonyms: rash, careless, thoughtless

Antonyms:careful, cautious, prudent

Usage: “you mustn’t be so reckless”

4) Abdicate (Verb) – त्यागना

Meaning: renounce one’s throne.

Synonyms: resign, retire, quit

Antonyms: be crowned, accede to

Usage: “in 1918 Kaiser Wilhelm abdicated as German emperor”

5) Veered (Verb) – अचानक दिशा बदलना  

Meaning: change direction suddenly.

Synonyms: swerve, career, skew

Antonyms: stayed, went direct, gone direct

Usage: “an oil tanker that had veered off course”

6) Probe (Noun) – तहक़ीक़ात

Meaning: a thorough investigation into a crime or other matter.

Synonyms: investigation, inquiry, examination

Antonyms: answer, ignore, misunderstand

Usage: “a probe into city hall corruption”

7) Stampede (Noun) – भगदड़

Meaning: rush wildly in a sudden mass panic.

Synonyms: bolt, charge, rush

Antonyms: retreat, withdrawal, conclusion

Usage: “the nearby sheep stampeded as if they sensed impending danger”

8) Egregious (Adjective) – चौंका देने वाला

Meaning: outstandingly bad; shocking.

Synonyms: shocking, appalling, horrific

Antonyms: marvellous

Usage:”egregious abuses of copyright”

9) Agrarian (Adjective) – कृषि-संबंधी

Meaning: relating to cultivated land or the cultivation of land.

Synonyms:agricultural, rural, countryside

Antonyms: nonagricultural, urban, industrial

Usage: “Brazil is rapidly diversifying its agrarian economy”

10) Sedition (Noun) – विद्रोह  

Meaning: conduct or speech inciting people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

Synonyms: incitement (to riot/rebellion), agitation, rabble-rousing

Antonyms: calm, obedience, peace

Usage: In March 1848, authorities charged several leading nationalists with sedition.
