GLOAT (Verb) : बुरी दृष्टि से घूरना

  • Meaning: dwell on one’s own success or another’s misfortune with smugness or malignant pleasure.
  • अर्थ: एक की सफलता या दूसरे के दुर्भाग्य पर स्मॉग या अशिष्टता का भाव।
  • Synonyms: exult, rejoice, relish
  • Antonyms: commiserate, sympathize
  • Usage: If you are the winner of a contest, you should not gloat and make your competitors feel inferior.

LOUSY(adjective) : घटिया

  • Meaning: very bad
  • अर्थ: बहुत बुरा
  • Synonyms: awful, horrible
  • Antonyms: good, great Example: The pizza was so incredibly lousy that she wouldn’t even give it to her worst enemy.

INCERTITUDE(noun) : संदेह

  • Meaning: Uncertainty; doubt
  • अर्थ: अनिश्चितता; शक
  • Synonyms: Confused, Suspicious
  • Antonyms: Assurance, Belief
  • Usage: The incertitude of his position in life caused him to postpone his marriage.

COGNIZANCE(noun) : हस्तक्षेप, संज्ञान

  • Meaning: To take notice of and consider something, especially when judging
  • अर्थ: किसी चीज़ पर ध्यान देना और विचार करना, विशेषकर न्याय करते समय
  • Synonyms: Awareness, Familiarity
  • Antonyms: Unfamiliar, Ignorance
  • Usage: The lawyer asked the jury to take cognizance of the defendant’s generosity in giving to charity.

VOLITANT(adjective) : तेजी से उड़ना

  • Meaning: flying or moving about rapidly
  • अर्थ: तेजी से उड़ना या बढ़ना
  • Synonyms: floating, soaring
  • Antonyms: slow, grounded
  • Usage: Volitant birds have taken over the beach and quickly fly about the area looking for food.

DOWNTRODDEN (adjective) : लताड़ा हुआ

  • Meaning: Oppressed or treated badly by people in power.
  • अर्थ: सत्ता में बैठे लोगों के द्वारा बुरा बर्ताव करना या उनके साथ व्यवहार करना।
  • Synonyms: persecuted, exploited, repressed, tyrannized.

INCONCEIVABLE(adjective) : अचिंतनीय

  • Meaning: not capable of being imagined or grasped mentally; unbelievable.
  • अर्थ: मानसिक रूप से कल्पना करने या समझ पाने में सक्षम नहीं; अविश्वसनीय।
  • Synonyms: implausible, improbable, incredible, incogitable.
  • Antonyms: plausible, reasonable, tenable, conceivable.
  • Usage: When I looked at my outrageous hospital bill, I blinked at the inconceivable amount

DILATORY (adjective) : धीमा

  • Meaning: slow to act
  • अर्थ: कार्य करने में धीमा
  • Synonyms: sluggish, slothful, lax, slack.
  • Antonyms: fast, prompt, brisk, quick.
  • Usage: They were dilatory in providing the researchers with information.

DERISIVE(adjective): व्यंग्यात्मक

  • Meaning: mocking and ridiculing
  • अर्थ: उपहास करना 
  • Synonyms: cheeky, scornful
  • Antonyms: polite, respectful
  • Usage: The bully let out a derisive laugh when mocking his classmate’s nerdy glasses.

REPROBATE (noun) : नीच

  • Meaning: an unprincipled person.
  • अर्थ: एक अप्रतिष्ठित व्यक्ति।
  • Synonyms: rogue, scoundrel, villain, wretch.
  • Antonyms: upright, virtuous, principled, righteous
