What is SSC CGL:
SSC stands for Staff Selection Scheme and CGL stands for Combined Graduate Level and the same are usually called as SSC CGL are those examinations which generally hire people for ministries work. This exam always conducted by the Government of India, it was established in 1975.
Exam Type:
It has various exams tiers and each tiers exam are followed by their previous exams. Any students applying for any of the posts comes under Staff Selection Scheme must have a bachelor’s degree from any recognised university. The age requirements depend upon the post for candidates are applying for. Basically the age limits are between 20 and 30 years. Like in 2018, for Central Bureau of Narcotics the age limits are 18 to 27 years. However, it was extended now to 30 years.
As we are talking about the exams criteria so here are some details which are mentioned below.
First, we have Tier I: which also called as Preliminary exams.
In the all the candidates have to face a question related to the subjects: General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Basically its a written objective multiple-choice exam with mentioned four subjects.
Only those cadidates are eligible for Tier II and Tier III exams, who cleared Tier I exams. All the mentioned sections are generally 50 marks per sections for a total of 200 Marks.
Tier II: Mains Exam, it is a written objective mcq exam which also majorly divided in for sections. The subjects are :Quantitative Aptitude, English Language and Comprehension, Statistics, General Studies. In 2018 this exam was conducted online.
Tier III exam: Descriptive Paper, this exam can be done in English in Hindi as per candidates choices. Basically its a complete offline exam which students like to do in their school exams like essay writing and letter writing, and sometimes precis and application writing.
In 2016, a Tier IV exam was added for Data Entry Skill Test and Computer Proficiency Test.
