As we all know that Indore secured first place in the League of Swachh Survekshan 2020. The result is announced by Hardeep Singh Puri Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs for the first and second quarters.
Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is founded in 1952 and the secretary of MoHUA is Shri Durga Shanker Mishra. The event which is organised 31st Dec was in Delhi as the Headquarters of MoHUA is in Delhi.
Case 1 More Than 10 Lakh Populations :
Indore ranked 1st in both quarters.
Quarter 1: Indore was on the first positions while Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) is in 2nd Position and Surat (Gujarat) is in the third positions.
Quarter2: Again Indore on the first positions while Rajkot (Gujarat) and Navi Mumbai(Maharashtra) in the second and third place respectively.
Case 2 More 1-10 Lakh Populations
Any cities have populations between 1-10 Lakhs, Jamshedpur (Jharkhand) ranked 1st in both quarters.
Quarter 1: Jamshedpur was on the first positions while New Delhi and Khargone in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
Quarter 2: Jamshedpur was on the first positions while Chandrapur and Khargone in the 2nd and 3rd place respectively.
In case of cantonment board rankings:
Quarter1: Tamil Nadu (St.Thomas Mount Cantt.) is in 1st rank, Uttar Pradesh (Jhansi Cantt.) is in 2nd rank and New Delhi(Delhi Cantt) is in 3rd rank.
Quarter2: In the Second quarter Delhi comes in 1st rank, Uttar Pradesh (Jhansi Cantt) still stays in 2nd rank and Punjab (Jalandhar Cantt) comes under 3rd rank.
Swachh Survekshan League 2020 :
This SS League was founded back in 1952, the idea behind this scheme to check the performance of the cities based on cleanliness. Basically its conducted in 3 quarters which is April-June, July-September and October-December 2019 contains 2000 marks for every quarter.
Swacch Bharat Mission and Management information system helps to evaluate the marks by city wise. Also with citizen’s validation on the 12 service level progress indicators. Basically it has two different category in which the SS League are divided.
1. Those cities which have 1 Lakh and above populations. This category is also divided into two parts-
A. Cities which have 1-10 Lakh populations
B. Cities which have more than 10 populcations
2. The second category is cities which have less than 1 lakh populations
