HDFC Bank launches “Summer Treats” campaign

HDFC Bank has started the “Summer Treats” campaign to provide offers to both merchants and, salaried and self-employed customers. In this campaign, bank will offer no-cost EMI and no down payment for large instruments. It will also offer discounts and cashback on select brands along with 50% extra reward points on online spend using credit cards.

NABARD provides Rs 270 crore to Assam Gramin Vikash Bank

National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has made available a Special Liquidity Facility (SLF) of Rs 270 crore to Assam Gramin Vikash Bank for supporting the agricultural activities of the farmers.

NABARD has provided Rs 25,000 crore nationwide for providing liquidity support to Cooperative Banks, Regional Rural Banks and Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) during 2020-21 with a view to ensuring the continued flow of credit to farmers to carry out their agricultural operations smoothly even during COVID-19 pandemic period.

Kushal Pal Singh retires as Chairman of DLF

After completing almost sixty years in business, Kushal Pal Singh retired as the Chairman of property firm Delhi Land & Finance Limited (DLF). He joined the DLF company in 1946 and took over as chairman of DLF on October 1, 1995. Rajiv Singh has been appointed as the new chairman of DLF while Kushal Pal Singh was made chairman emeritus.

India will host 2022 Women’s Asian Cup 

Asian Football Confederation selected India for the hosting of the 2022 Women’s Asian Cup. As hosts, India will get an automatic qualification to the tournament. The decision of awarding India the hosting rights of 2022 Women’s Asian Cup was taken at the AFC Women’s Football Committee meeting.

Bollywood producer Anil Suri passed away due to COVID-19. He was famous for producing Bollywood films “Begunaah starring Rajesh Khanna, Farah Naaz and Jeetendra.

Producer and songwriter Rupert Hine passes away

British Producer and songwriter Rupert Hine passed away. He was a dominant producer in the 1980s and 1990s. His renowned works that appeared on soundtracks for the films Better Off Dead, GoldenEye, The Fifth Element, etc.
